Proven Reliability and Redundancy

Since 1994 Seisan has believed that availability and stability is crucial to success. All servers are housed in a state of the art, climate controlled, carrier-class facility. Our infrastructure supports multiple redundant connections to the Internet. Our server facilities feature power back up plus daily and weekly data backup with off site data storage.

Fast Connections to the Internet

Accessibility is the key to your web site's success. Seisan houses all Web hosting client sites on dedicated Web servers connected to the Internet backbone via a fiber connected, all Cisco network.

Physical Plant

Seisan co-locates all of their equipment at a central office location owned and operated by D&E Communications in Akron, PA. D&E has converted one of their central offices to a secure datacenter. The D&E datacenter is a secure card access facility that supports diesel generator backup, battery backup, temperature and humidity control and FM 200 fire suppression technology. The D&E datacenter is serviced by a 45Mb circuit fed into their SONET ring network topology, which feeds into the Internet backbone via any of 5 redundant points on the SONET ring.

All Seisan rack mount servers are housed within APC NetShelter locked rack mount server cabinets. Each server is connected to an APC MasterSwitch remote rebooting device in case a remote reboot is necessary.

Seisan Backup Strategy

Seisan maintains an ADIC DLT Autoloader, which has the capacity to remotely backup 560 GB of server data. Seisan uses Veritas Backup Exec 8.5 for Windows NT 2000 Advanced Server. Each server maintains a Veritas Backup Exec Agent Accelerator License.

Seisan runs a full backup on the complete file system using the Veritas UNIX Agent. A full backup will be performed nightly.

A new set of tapes is used and stored offline each week.

Seisan Monitoring Strategy

Seisan monitors each server 24x7x365. The following services are monitored: server ping, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP.

Seisan Firewall Strategy

Each dedicated server is located behind a Checkpoint Firewall. The Checkpoint firewall is configured to protect your server from several popular Denial of Service attacks such as ping of death, SYN attacks, etc. We also provide you with the Checkpoint Secure Remote client software to enable secure VPN connections between you and your dedicated server.
